Now because Apple changed their browser extension policy and LastPass apparently has no energy to put together a complete system under one app, you have to have both apps and the binaries don’t work anymore with Safari so you will have basically two standalone Mac apps one that doesn’t have touch ID support and one that does and then the one that doesn’t have touch ID support program provides the browser plugin support. But that doesn’t give you any functionality into the browser without installing the binaries for the browsers or that’s how it used to be. Ok so the Mac and Safari situation is a total shitshow and I make no promises that this will work for your setup but basically you need The new and improved Mac only app if you want touch ID support on a Mac book.
